| Amy Hinrichs | | I am so happy to be in the business of teaching students and am especially fond of the first, second and third grades or Elementary One Level. The chance to help with learning to read and then to write about ideas is a transforming experience. The children at this age are tremendous people. They are curious, helpful, wise and busy and are a wonderful mix of energy and intelligence. I am happy to be able to spend quality time with them.
I am proud to have been teaching Montessori Children’s House or Elementary One since 1983. When St. Paul public Schools began opening our Montessori programs, I was lucky to be first hired at Elementary One. Since then, I have earned a Masters Degree, led and attended scores of workshops, began a science concentration of study at the University of Minnesota and St Catherine through the STEM program.
I am delighted to say my two children attended J.J. Hill Montessori and are now busy with their lives in music and school. They have my heart when I’m not teaching. I love folk and classical music, playing my cello, birding, church choir, reading, travel, eating my husband’s food and enjoying my dogs.
