| Terri J. Schmidt | | I first came to J.J. Hill in 2001 as a student teacher. During my student teaching experience I made the decision to get Montessori training, with the hope of one day returning to J.J. Hill as a classroom teacher. Rather than going right to graduate school, I decided to spend a couple of years teaching. I did this through the Teach for America program which placed me in rural North Carolina. It was there, in Henderson, North Carolina, that I met my husband. Following my two years in North Carolina, I headed to Baltimore, Maryland to complete Montesssori Training at the Washington Montessori Institute at Loyola College. During my training I contacted Saint Paul Public Schools and was informed J.J. Hill would have an opening in the fall of 2006. I happily joined the E1 team in the fall of 2006 and have enjoyed working with the children and families of J.J. Hill ever since.
When I'm not at J.J. Hill, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our son, and our loyal yellow lab.
