Ms. Amber

Hello everyone! My name is Ms. Amber and I am very excited to be returning as one of the upper elementary teachers at J.J. Hill Montessori.  I have been a Montessori teacher for 13 years.  My teaching career began as a student teacher at J.J. Hill.  As a student teacher, I was completely in awe of the children I saw moving with freedom and responsibility, using beautiful materials, and independently choosing their work and planning their day with guidance from their teacher.  I was immediately hooked by this amazing philosophy.  

In our classroom, we work on balancing freedom and responsibility, which are essential tenets of a Montessori classroom.

When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my husband Adam, our two joyful Montessori children Nemo (age 6) and Aurore (age 4), and our dog Joey and new puppy Zeus.  I also enjoy rock climbing, gardening, walks or hikes (especially around Lake Superior), paddleboarding, reading, and knitting.
