About the Teacher

Mandy Perna

Hello and welcome to our E1 community!

I am from Fargo, ND and now live in St. Paul. After earning a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Moorhead State University, I spent three years teaching Kindergarten-4th grade in a small, growing, private Montessori school. I then moved to St. Paul to obtain my Montessori certification and Master's degree at St. Catherine University. I taught 1st and 2nd grade in a public Montessori school in the Minneapolis Public Schools for 8 years. Once I learned about the wonderful changes at Cherokee, I just knew I had to become a Tiger! I am so grateful to be part of this school community. Thank you for choosing Cherokee Heights. 

When I am not at school, I love to camp, travel, go to spinning class, walk, ride my bike, sew, cook, read and spend time with my family. My parents and brothers live in Fargo, ND. I am thankful that my sister and niece only live a few miles away.

The children call me Mandy and one thing I LOVE about our school is how the staff collaborate. Of course I LOVE your children-they bring me joy, laughs and awe every single day.
